Billy Joe Hoyle is an American-born photographer known for documenting the human condition and capturing moments of time reminiscent of the post-war Humanist School of street photographers. Hoyle is a Traditionalist who adheres to the philosophy that photographs are never altered or cropped. His "Decisive Moment" technique is evident in his photographs. Billy Joe Hoyle is a Leica photographer.
Hoyle's documentary work covers seven countries and exhibitions include the Leica Gallery (New York City), the Southeast Museum of Photography, and Kolle-Bolle (Lyon, France).
